13. Victorine Leblond. Animaux domestiques articulés: Découpage et montage sans collage [Articulated Domestic Animals: Cutting and Assembly Without Glue]. Paris: Flammarion, 1941.
The instructions are surrounded by a border of the completed figures.
13a. The rooster and turkey.
13b. The chicken and donkey.
Although Leblond's figures look complicated, their construction is straightforward and age-appropriate, compared to other contemporary (and much flashier) French activity books in the Cotsen Collection. Each page has all the pieces for two figures. Once they are cut out and sorted, the pieces are folded along the lines and fastened together at the designated points with matches.
