Photocopies

A photocopy is always a copy of the work it reproduces.

If the original work has not been cataloged for the PUL collections, photocopies are forwarded to Catalog Division to receive new cataloging. If a PUL catalog record exists for the original work, the photocopy is forwarded to Cat. Unit 5 for processing as either an added or replacement copy.

  • A photocopy is never considered to be a different edition of the work it reproduced, even though it differs physically from the original.
