The Castle of Blois is fascinating because it is made up of structures constructed in different eras. The exterior façade of the François I wing dominates the town in an imposing manner. The entrance opens to the East, to the primary façade costructed uner Louis XII. The Louis XII wing is built on a gallery, the arcs of which are supported by round and rectangular columns that alternate. The style of the Gaston of Orléans wing contrasts with its neighboring structures from the Renaissance, like that of the François I wing.
