Autograph letter, written by May's secretary Manuel Antonio Gil at X-Enan. This is a Spanish translation of a letter to Miguel Huchim and an order given by Florentino Chan, marshalling his troops. The authors advise Huchim that they are unable to send him troops because they are needed elsewhere.

SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The first part of the manuscript consists of a Mayan translation of the Passion, followed by instructions for the Mass. The second part of the manuscript consists of a record of deaths in Teabo, Yucatàn, beginning with an entry dated Nov. 22, 1803 and ending with one dated Oct. 6, 1875. Balthasar Mutul and Juan Tomas Mutul are mentioned. Folio 2 is inscribed "Teabo - Cayam Batab." Christian names written in Spanish. The death records on the final pages are from the Maya town of Teabo. The manuscript likely originated from this town.

Includes a catechism with questions first in Spanish then in Mayan-Yucatec (p. 3-14); p. 15-20 are blank; extracts from a medical botanical ms. with the heading "Conosimiento y virtudes de las yerbas Yucatecas estractadas del manuscripto que dejo D. Richardo Osada -- alias el Judio" (p. 21-51); p. 52 is blank. Leaves are unnumbered.
