Eine kleine Reise an des blaue Meer [A Little Trip to the Blue
Sea].
Leipzig: 1935.
The quintessence of summer is the wonderful feeling of near weightlessness
when floating stretched out on your back, supported by
the water, eyes closed against the sun's fierce rays. During the
gloomiest winter days, this memory sustains the hope
that the season for swimming will come around again.
Ilse Ziegler was a student at the Staatlichen Akademie für Graphische
Künste und Buchgewerbe in Leipzig. The book's colophon explains
that she wrote, illustrated, and designed it for a school project.
