Bibliographic and Holdings Screens for Multiple Versions
The master preservation copy takes precedence over other versions in determining cataloging treatment and description. Always describe the master preservation copy in the photoreproduction (533) note. Formulate an appropriate statement to describe the other version and record it in an 866 ‡z note on that version's mfhd. In most cases, one of the following should apply:
Photocopy. Positive service copy. Negative service copy. Service copy. Mixed polarity. Master printing copy. Available for reproduction only
