Description
A 2000+ piece collection of figures used in Chinese traditional shadow theater. They are made of leather and other semi-transparent materials so that they can be backlit against a screen. Dating from the late Qing and early Republican period, these figures were used to depict a variety of folktales and other aspects of Chinese culture.
