Manuscript text which mentions six of the early missionary friars, including Domingo de Vico, fray Francisco de Viana, friars Juan de Torres, and of one Ozcona, and Gallego. Includes the date "Agosto 14 Año de 1565" on fol. 2r and an inscription on fol. 4r, in a 19th-century hand "Los anteriores E[n]an Ticaquez en a quel tiempo cuando [ ] noestaba entre du[e]llos Feliciano Caal," and on verso "Juan Caal, Alcalde Juez. Calisto Tilom, 1 Regidor." Typed transcript laid in with the manuscript.

Contains a calendar of "lucky and unlucky days" in K'eq'chi, with months and certain feast days written in Spanish. No year indicated, but the date 1867 is written in pen on fol. 6v on day 16 of the month of October. Also includes 4 lines of religious music with K'eq'chi text on fol. 8v, and a Latin prayer (Salve Regina?) on fol. 9v. The manuscript was probably written in Lanquin, Alta Verapaz (Guatemala), where it was later acquired by William Gates. Together with typed transcription (2 copies) laid in.

A catechism divided into five chapters, containing explanations of various aspects of faith and Christian doctrine, including the history of the Nicene Creed, the mysteries of the Holy Spirit, the creation of the angels, etc. (fols. 1r-22v). Translated into Spanish from K'eq'chi by Don Tomas Riveiro, as indicated by the inscription "Traduccion del español al quecchi por Don Tomas Riveiro Coban-República de Guatemala," on preliminary leaf. Also includes a sermon on fols. 23r-39v entitled "Sermon para el dia de San Juan Bautista, predicado el Año de 1798." The manuscript is undated. Foliation is written on both sides of the page and there are blank leaves in the middle and end, which are not foliated.
